Leave tracking in Microsoft Teams: coming soon
The Absenca Teams bot isn't available yet. Until it is, approved leave already shows up in the Teams calendar through Outlook sync, and people sign in with their Microsoft account.

Absenca's Microsoft Teams bot isn't available yet: it's built, but it isn't in the Teams app store and can't be added to a tenant today. Absenca already works alongside Teams, though: approved leave syncs to each person's Outlook calendar, which is the calendar Teams shows, and staff sign in with the Microsoft 365 account they already have.
When the bot launches, people will request leave and check their balance in a chat with it, and approvers will decide from a card without leaving Teams. Until then, leave is booked in the web app, every request reaches the approver by email, and the full leave system runs underneath: accruals, carry-over, per-office public holidays and reports. Absenca is free for up to 10 people. Pro is $37.50 a month for up to 50 people, or $33.75 a month billed annually ($405 a year).

In the Teams calendar today
Approved leave syncs to each person's Outlook calendar, shown as out of office. Teams displays that same calendar, so time off appears in Teams with no bot needed. Calendar sync is on every plan, the free Starter plan included.
Microsoft sign-in today
Staff sign in with their existing Microsoft 365 account, so there's no extra Absenca password to set, forget or reset.
Coming: requests and approvals in Teams
People will request leave and check balances in a personal chat with the bot, and approvers will approve or reject from a card.
Coming: who's off, in a channel
A daily or weekly summary of who's away will post to the Teams channel the app is added to.
Where the Teams bot stands
The bot is built and tested, with the same everyday commands as the Absenca Slack bot: requesting leave and overtime, balances, who's out, holidays and approvals. What's left is publishing it as a Teams app, so it isn't in the Teams app store and can't be added to a tenant yet.
If your team needs leave inside Teams today, choose a tool whose Teams app is live. If the web app and Outlook will do for now, Absenca gives you the full leave system today. Already in Slack too? The Slack bot is live.
What works with Teams today
The Teams calendar is the person's Outlook calendar, so Outlook sync already puts approved leave in front of everyone who schedules in Teams. Each person connects their Microsoft 365 account once; from then on approved leave is written to their calendar, shown as out of office, and taken off again if it's cancelled.
Approvals happen in the web app: each new request is emailed to the right approver with a button that opens the approval queue. A shared team calendar of who's off can be subscribed to in Outlook, and it's on Pro and the Custom Pack, not on the free Starter plan. What the Teams bot will do
Requests: ask for leave or log overtime from a card in a personal chat with the bot, and check your balance, entitlements, upcoming holidays and blocked dates by typing a word such as balance or holidays.
Approvals: approvers will get each new request as a card with Approve and Reject, can list what's waiting, and can see a teammate's balance before deciding.
Visibility: who's out today and this week whenever you ask, and a daily or weekly summary in the channel where the app is added.
